The August Reset: Getting Back Into My Rhythm

There’s something about an August reset that makes me want to get my life together.

Not in a “new year, new me, throw everything away and start over” kind of way. More like a “okay girl, let’s get back to ourselves” kind of way.

Between motherhood, work, keeping the house together, trying to take care of myself, maintaining relationships, creating content, and everything else life likes to throw into the mix, somewhere along the way, some of my routines got lost.

And honestly? I needed the pause.

July was quieter for me creatively. I wasn’t posting as consistently, and I wasn’t forcing myself to keep up just for the sake of saying I was keeping up.

But somewhere in that pause, I realized something:

I miss feeling like I have a rhythm.

Not a perfect routine. Not a color-coded schedule where every minute of my day is accounted for.

Just a rhythm that makes me feel grounded.

So that’s what August is about for me.

Getting back into my rhythm.

I’m Not Trying to Become a Whole New Person

I think we put so much pressure on ourselves when we say we need a “reset.”

We imagine waking up at 5 a.m., drinking a green juice, working out, journaling, cleaning the entire house, meal prepping for the week, getting dressed every day, staying on top of our skincare, being an amazing mom, answering every email, posting consistently…

Girl. Be serious. 😂

I have a toddler.

I have a job.

I have a household.

I have responsibilities.

And I also have goals.

So my August reset isn’t about becoming some hyper-productive version of myself who never gets tired or falls behind.

It’s about creating routines that actually fit my real life.

I want more structure, but I also want grace.

I want movement, but I don’t want to punish my body.

I want to take better care of myself, but I don’t want self-care to become another item on my never-ending to-do list.

And most importantly, I want to make room for me again.

1. I’m Getting Dressed Again

This one sounds so simple, but it matters to me.

There have been plenty of days where working from home meant staying in whatever I slept in for far too long.

And while there is absolutely nothing wrong with a cozy day, I’ve realized that getting dressed changes how I feel.

It doesn’t have to be a full face of makeup and a complete outfit.

Sometimes it’s just putting on something that makes me feel cute, doing my skincare, throwing on a wig or head covering, adding a little lip gloss, and deciding that I’m going to show up for myself today.

Getting dressed isn’t about looking good for somebody else.

It’s one of those little signals to myself that says:

“I’m here.”

2. I’m Moving My Body Again

Movement has always been one of the ways I feel most connected to myself.

Not because I think I need to “earn” food or because I owe the world a certain body.

I move because I feel better when I do.

The gym gives me a little time where I can focus on something that’s just for me. And even when the motivation isn’t there, I know I’ll usually feel better afterward.

My goal this month isn’t perfection.

It’s consistency.

Some days that might mean a full workout. Other days it might mean walking, stretching, or simply doing something instead of doing nothing.

I’m learning that something counts.

3. I’m Taking My Beauty Routine Seriously Again

I’ve always loved beauty, but lately I’ve been thinking about it less as something I need to do and more as something I get to enjoy.

Skincare. Makeup. Body care. Getting ready.

Those little rituals can make a regular Tuesday feel a little less like a Tuesday.

And that’s one reason I’m excited to be creating again this month.

I’ve been getting back into experimenting with products, creating beauty content, and actually enjoying the process instead of worrying so much about whether every post is perfect.

One of my first August beauty moments is a simple 10-minute reset, and it reminded me exactly why I love beauty content in the first place.

Sometimes you don’t need a whole transformation.

Sometimes you just need ten minutes to look in the mirror and recognize yourself again.

4. I’m Resetting My Home

My environment affects me more than I sometimes want to admit.

When my house feels cluttered, my brain feels cluttered.

And with a toddler? Listen. The house can go from clean to looking like a tiny tornado came through in approximately 11 minutes. 😂

So I’m not trying to maintain some perfectly styled home.

I’m focusing on resetting the spaces we actually use.

Putting things back where they belong.

Getting rid of things we don’t need.

Making our outdoor space feel good again.

Creating little areas that make everyday life easier.

Because sometimes getting your life together starts with getting one room together.

5. I’m Making Space for Creativity Again

This might be the biggest one.

I missed creating.

I missed thinking about content ideas. I missed filming. I missed editing. I missed having conversations with the people who follow along with my life.

Taking a break helped me realize that content creation isn’t something I want to force myself to do.

It’s something I genuinely enjoy.

So I’m coming back with less pressure and more intention.

I’m not trying to post just to post.

I want to create things that feel like me.

Beauty.

Wellness.

Motherhood.

Home.

Real life.

The little things I’m learning along the way.

And hopefully, content that makes another woman feel a little less alone in whatever season she’s in.

6. I’m Being More Intentional With My Time

This one is still a work in progress.

Because let’s be honest: there are only so many hours in a day.

Between working, motherhood, household responsibilities, relationships, fitness, content creation, and trying to have an actual personality outside of all those things, time can disappear FAST.

So I’m learning to be more intentional about what actually deserves my energy.

Not every text needs an immediate response.

Not every opportunity needs a yes.

Not every trend needs to become content.

Not every day needs to be maximized.

Sometimes the most productive thing I can do is rest.

And I’m trying to stop treating rest like something I have to earn.

7. I’m Choosing Progress Over Perfection

This is probably the biggest lesson I’m carrying into the rest of 2026.

I don’t need to do everything perfectly to be proud of myself.

I can miss a workout and go back the next day.

I can have an unproductive day and still have a productive week.

I can take a break from creating and come back.

I can change my routine when my life changes.

I can be a good mom and still want more for myself.

I can love my family and still need time alone.

I can be grateful for my life and still want to improve it.

Two things can be true at the same time.

And maybe that’s what this reset is really about.

Not fixing everything.

Just making small decisions that move me closer to the woman I want to be.

So, What Does My August Reset Actually Look Like?

For me, it’s pretty simple:

More movement.

More intention.

More getting dressed.

More taking care of my home.

More beauty and self-care.

More creativity.

More quality time with the people I love.

More grace when life doesn’t go according to plan.

And less pressure to have it all figured out.

I’m not walking into August with a perfect routine.

I’m walking into it willing to try again.

And honestly, I think that’s enough.

Here’s to Getting Back to Ourselves

If you’ve been feeling a little off lately, I hope you know you’re not behind.

Maybe your routine changed.

Maybe motherhood changed you.

Maybe work got overwhelming.

Maybe you just needed a break.

Maybe you’ve been pouring into everybody else and realized your own cup has been sitting empty.

Whatever it is, you don’t have to overhaul your entire life tomorrow.

Start small.

Get dressed.

Take the walk.

Clean the corner that’s been bothering you.

Make the appointment.

Put on the perfume.

Drink the water.

Go to the gym.

Call your friend.

Make the content.

Take the nap.

Whatever helps you feel a little more like you again.

Because sometimes a reset isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about finding your way back to yourself.

And that’s what August is for me.

Getting back into my rhythm.
